HP MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Every day for the rest of the month we are sharing cool facts from Mr Walter for African Heritage month:
These facts are specific to black Canadian history.
In 1995, Oakville's Donovan Bailey assumed the title of "World's Fastest Human" by winning the 100-metre sprint at the World Track Championships at Göteborg, Sweden. Taking silver in the same race was Montreal's Bruny Surin. Bailey went on to win gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, setting a new world and Olympic record (9.84).

Options and Opportunities (O2) Test Drive...Any grade 9s interested in going to the test drive at Citadel on Wednesday 7 March, please sign up outside Mr. Lang’s office.

If you enjoyed the African drumming and dance this past Tuesday, a similar event will be taking place this Friday evening from 6-8pm at the Friendship Center on Gottingen Street. Our own Essance MacKinnon will be performing with the group.

Highland Park Challenge Cup: If you are interested in playing but had NOT signed up please see Mr.Maher or email amaher@gnspes.ca by Friday, and we will put you on a team.

Basketball: All players must return uniforms and pay fees to Mr. Jerrett ASAP!

Badminton: The 3rd tryout today after school has been cancelled and moved to Monday next week. Sorry for any inconvenience.
