HP MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday October 12, 2018, 2018. Week 2

Rao’s African Heritage Tidbits
Fri October 12th:

Burnley Allan "Rocky" Jones was an African-Nova Scotian and an internationally known political activist in the areas of human rights, race and poverty. As a well known Lawyer, he successfully argued the groundbreaking case before the Supreme Court of Canada in 1997.​​

Take Our Kids to Work day is Wednesday November 14th for the grade 9s. Find someplace to spend the day and learn about a potential career! If you will NOT be with a family member or in a public school for TOKTW day, an additional Risk Assessment form will have to be completed. Forms are available outside Mr. Lang’s office. Get them in ASAP!

I AM POTENTIAL - anyone who still would like to be a part of the I AM POTENTIAL program should give their application to the office asap


A reminder of the Oct. 18th deadline to register for ENGage in Engineering – Engineers NS along with Dalhousie University will be hosting an interactive day of workshops for girls in grades 7 to 9 who want to learn more about careers in engineering.  There is space for each school to bring up to 4 students plus one chaperone.  Students will have a day of hands-on activities, meet engineering students, professors and professionals working in industry and learn about the diverse careers available to engineers within Nova Scotia and around the world.
If you are interested, please see Mr. Lang ASAP.

Girls Soccer team plays their last game next Monday. The game is in Spryfield so start to arrange your own drives today.

Boys Soccer team plays their last game Tuesday, please start to arrange your drives.

Fall Madness: teams will hopefully be picked this week on Thursday or Friday.
