Highland Park Junior High

April 26th, 2019

Friday, April 26th - Week 2

“We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki (MEEG-MA-GEE), the traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq people”. We want to continue to honour our promise to them to live in peace and friendship.”

Highland Park has started to collect old and broken cell phones! Bring your cell phones to Bradbury’s room and put them into the box near her desk! Let’s help our planet!

Summer Camp Opportunity! African Nova Scotian and Indigenous students in grade 8 and 9 who are interested in having fun and learning about health careers should see Mr. Lang asap. Applications are due 3 May for the ANS summer camps and 27 May for the Indigenous summer camps!

Huge thank you goes out to the grade 7 girls who organized the dance last night. We had a great turnout! Also, thank you to Tayon and Armon for a fantastic playlist! The last dance of the year is in June - updates will be given closer to the time.

Read Tuesdays and Thursdays only:
Today the AIR room is open. This starts at 12:30 in Mr. Masotti’s room. Remember to attend if your teacher has asked you to. All other students welcome to come and work quietly.
Ms. J offers extra help at this time too!

Sports:
There will not be girls or boys softball this school year. This is due to the wet field conditions and conflicts with track and field, grade 8 assessments and grade 9 trips. HPJH is looking forward to defending last year’s finals appearance next year.

Girls Sports Club:  Meet Ms. J in the gym at lunch today (12:25). We are playing basketball - all girls welcome!

Track and Field - Practices for Juniors and Intermediates will start Monday at 3pm
:-) Have a great day Highland Park!
