HP MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday, October 5, 2018. Week 1

Take Our Kids to Work day is Wednesday November 14th for the grade 9s. Find someplace to spend the day and learn about a potential career! If you will NOT be with a family member or in a public school for TOKTW day, an additional Risk Assessment form will have to be completed. Forms are available outside Mr. Lang’s office. Get them in ASAP!

The Terry Fox Run is this today!. Make sure you give your donations to your homeroom teacher this morning. Students will report to there 1 class after lunch for attendance, then head down to the gym for a pre-walk assembly.

I AM POTENTIAL - anyone who still would like to be a part of the I AM POTENTIAL program should give their application to the office asap

Girls Only Active Lunch: Starting on Tuesday Oct 9th at 12:20

The Girls volleyball list has been posted outside of the gym, congratulations to those who made it, and thank you to all who participated in tryouts.


Touch Football
HP will play a make-up game today at 5pm versus Central Junior High.  The practice scheduled for lunchtime is cancelled.  See Mr. Lucas if you can’t make the game.

Boys Soccer team played Herring Cove yesterday which resulted in a win 3-0… The boys record is now 4 wins and 0 loses.

Mr. Tortola will be organizing the school clothing order this year.  Please listen to announcements in the coming weeks for information on how you can own your very own HP gear.

African NS History
Elijah McCoy was born to former slaves who escaped to Canada from the United States. He studied mechanical engineering in Scotland and became known for inventing a device that lubricated a train's moving parts while the train was in motion. He is also credited with inventing the portable
ironing boards, and held more than 50 patents in total.
